Makarska is enclosed by two peninsulas, Osejava and St. Peter, which create a natural harbor and scenic waterfront promenade. It is well known, in Croatia and abroad, for this beautiful promenade lined with palm trees that becomes a home to many sailboats and luxury yachts in the summer. Its stunning old town is rich with traditional Dalmatian architecture, with hundred-year-old stone houses lined along what was once the main street Kalalarga, meaning wide street, which leads to the main square. The main Makarska square is named after one of the most significant Dalmatian poets, friar Andrija Kačić Miošić. It is truly the core of Makarska, the central place where many concerts and shows are enjoyed by visitors and locals.

This part of Adriatic coastline is stunning, and not common at all. Above Makarska rises the challenging Mt. Biokovo that descends into the sea and throughout centuries, with the help of the Adriatic Sea, has formed beautiful white pebble beaches that stretch for miles. This ascending terrain can at times become somewhat challenging, but it is thanks to such terrain configuration that many of Makarska homes are blessed with extended and stunning sea views on every side.

There is nothing better than enjoying your day on the terrace, looking at spectacular sunrises while enjoying your morning cup of coffee or tea, or enjoying a glass of wine while watching as the sun in the most amazing shades of red and orange sets and dips into the sea, behind the Island of Brač.
