Although a small littoral town, Baška Voda counts approximately three thousand inhabitants. Once a settlement of workers, fishermen, merchants and seafarers, Baška Voda developed into a modern tourist resort with all the contents and markings of a small Mediterranean town. The combination of a long pearly white pebble beach, waterfront promenade lined with palm and pine trees and old stone houses, make Baška Voda one of the most popular places on Makarska Riviera. In the past decades real estate in Baška Voda were built mostly for tourism purposes, private houses with apartments and rooms, B&Bs, etc. It was in the past fifteen years or so that a number of modern apartment buildings rose in Baška Voda, expanding the offer to include a wide variety of apartments, many of them with wonderful view of the sea and some with swimming pools.
